The Belgian League teams

The time has come. After weeks of suspense and excitement, we can finally announce the six teams that will compete for the crown in the first season of the Belgian League in 2020. We’re ready. Are you?

Sector One
One of the powerhouses from Belgium. To many it won’t come as a surprise that Sector One will be aiming for the title in the Belgian League. With a strong history in League of Legends, will they hold true to their name and take that number one spot?

KV Mechelen
After having dipped their feet into the world of esports through FIFA, KV Mechelen had already made it known they wanted to take a further step into esports with League of Legends. Now it will be their chance to prove that they have what it takes to compete with the best.

Brussels Guardians
A long-standing participant in the Benelux scene of esports, Brussels Guardians returns once again to take part in the Belgian League and cement themselves as a top contender from Belgium. Will the team’s experience give them the edge they need?

RSCA Esports
A new face stepping in the League of Legends scene, but not without a rich history of its own. They made their mark in professional football, they made their mark in FIFA, and now they’ve come to make their mark in the Belgian League. Will they be able to bring their A-game to the table and take home the title?

Timeout Esports
A name everyone that followed League of Legends recently will know, Timeout Esports is here to show us they are a force to be reckoned with and a competitor for the top spot in the Belgian League.

Aethra Esports
After proving themselves as one of Belgium’s strongest teams recently, Aethra Esports is back to defend their title and take home another one. Can they go back-to-back and fight their way into the EU Masters doing so?

And so it begins…

We are extremely excited to see what the future holds, for the league, the teams, the fans and esports in the Benelux as a whole. Let this mark the beginning of a new era in esports!

We want to thank all of the teams that have applied for a spot – this wouldn’t have been possible without every organisation putting their best foot forward. Meanwhile every team not in the Belgian League will be able to participate in the Open Tour Benelux (more info coming soon). We will continue to work with all of you to develop our regional esports scene and prepare everyone for next year, when the Belgian League will become bigger, better, and stronger!
